WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-dconstruct Jewelry of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Circa Asia of Novato, Calif.; and Anointment Natural Skin Care of Sackville, New Brunswick, have all been named to receive NY Now's Eco-Choice Awards for the summer edition of the show later this month.
dconstruct Jewelry's Wild Silk Jewelry was named Most Innovative for its use of recycled resin and wild silk sourced from artisan communities in developing countries. Circa Asia garnered the Eco-Choice Award for Most Sensitive Use of Materials, for its Mango Wood Large Ribbed Serving Bowl made of food-safe wood sourced from controlled, sustainable mango plantations. Anointment Natural Skin Care's Baby Oil was honored as Most Sellable for its use of certified genetically modified organism-free organic oils and herbs instead of petroleum derivatives.
Noting that this summer's NY Now marks the 10th anniversary of the Eco-Choice Awards, Christian Falkenberg, NY Now director and senior vice president, said that "the demand for 'green' products shows no signs of fading."
The Eco-Choice Awards are co-sponsored by NY Now and GREENRetailer magazine. Winners were determined through online balloting.
