WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-The Surtex conference program, titled “Art & Design Profit Perspectives: Design Business Intelligence for Manufacturers, Artists, Designers and Retailers,” has been scheduled for the May show.
The sessions will begin on May 19 with topics that cover the basics of monetizing art and design, whether through licensing or selling designs outright. The second day of the conferences, May 20, will include a legal session on design protection and three category spotlights dealing with the specifics required to do business within various product categories. The third day, May 21, will have two sessions focusing on business trends, one from a retail perspective and the other from designers’ point of view.
