WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-An estimated 7,000 manufacturers, retailers and marketers are expected to attend Surtex, which runs from May 19-21 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
The attendees will view the work of about 300 exhibitors representing more than 1,000 artists. The exhibitors will be from 12 countries in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Eighty-four of these exhibitors will be at Surtex for the first time.
Penny Sikalis, manager of Surtex and vice president of the show’s producer, GLM, said the show overall is 5 percent larger than last year’s edition. The show’s new Atelier section, which targets textiles manufacturers, has 75 exhibitors, Sikalis said.
Surtex will also include a 10-session conference program, with sessions on art licensing, licensee/licensor relationships, legal considerations and strategies. Other programs will deal with specific market sectors.
