NYIGF Tabs Seven Products with Highest Sustainability Status

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–The New York International Gift Fair has designated seven products as SustainAbility3(superscript), the show’s highest level for sustainability products, production processes and business practices.

The products are among the 250 featured in the show’s SustainAbility: design for a better world section. Among the home products in this group are the Soft Bin by Fluf, a handmade storage container featuring silk-screened prints with water-based pigments; Sueno by Mariposa, a handmade tableware collection made of recycled aluminum; and PATS’ line of hand-carved wooden bowls and stools, made from wood sourced from communal forests in the Amazon region of Peru.

NYIGF’s “Degrees of SustainAbility” initiative outlines industry-specific criteria for identification of green products and manufacturers. Its three-tiered ranking, SustainAbility1(superscript) through SustainAbility3(superscript), indicates the extent to which a product or manufacturer complies with these standards.
