NY Now Expects Summer Sellout

NY NowWHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-NY Now is anticipating that the summer edition of the show will be sold out, with more than 2,800 returning and new suppliers expected to exhibit at the show, according to GLM, the show’s owner and manager.

“There is a high level of enthusiasm for, and interest in,  the summer market, and we’re excited to showcase a wealth of both new and returning companies in all four market collections,” said Christian Falkenberg, GLM senior vice president and the show’s director. The market collections are Home, which includes Home Furnishings + Textiles, Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares and Accent on Design; Lifestyle, with Baby + Child, Gift, Personal Accessories and Personal Care + Wellness; Handmade, encompassing Designer and Global Design; and New!, which highlights market newcomers.

“We are welcoming back a number of key vendors and working with many of our current exhibitors to expand their exhibit space for this August,” Falkenberg said.

The summer NY Now will return to its traditional five-day pattern, running from Aug.16-20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 in New York City. Part of the show will be a four-day slate of educational seminars and special events, with more than 20 seminars covering topics ranging from color and design trends, importing, digital marketing and social media, visual merchandising marketing and other retail strategies.

The fifth semi-annual edition of Artisan Resource—which links U.S. based importers, direct-import retailers and wholesalers with overseas artisan enterprises—will run concurrently with NY Now at Pier 94. This event is scheduled for Aug. 16-19.
