NEW YORK-The September New York Home Fashions Market has entered its second day. Here is some of what HFN found in the showrooms yesterday:

Peking Handicrafts is introducing its Thermal Weave window treatment collection, which provides 99 percent blocking of outside light and which comes in different textures and five colors. Also new from Peking Handicraft is a collection of decorative pillows in citrusy bright colors, whose designs also include geometrics and embroideries … Home Source International is unveiling a new brand and expanding another brand. Dorm Essentials includes products manufactured specifically for small spaces such as dorms and studio apartments. The collection includes furniture, lighting and textiles … Kennebunk Home, a brand known for throws, is being expanded to include bedding, bath products and window treatments … WestPoint Home has extended its Portico Home collection with a new brand, Under the Canopy, featuring spa looks in bedding and bath, and carrying along the Portico Home focus on sustainable products. It is also launching the Southern Tide collection, based on the apparel brand and including bed ensembles, sheets and a solid-color towel program … Alok International unveiled its Caribbean Joe license, which the company announced last month, and its new separate showroom at 7 W New York specifically for this program. The collection includes four bed ensembles, solid-color towels, beach towels and table linens … The Northwest Co. has made a major statement in the beach category with a line of towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, tumblers and tailgating products. Along with this is the company’s first line of bath accessories, featuring hand towels and soap dispensers.

Also worthy of note: Pendleton Woolen Mills debuted its first line of bath accessories, which will begin shipping in spring 2013. In addition, the company is planning to celebrate its 160th anniversary in business next year with the introduction of the Thomas Kay collection, named after Pendleton’s founder. This grouping will include throws and decorative pillows with designs derived from the company’s archive.
