WEST WARWICK, R.I.—Natco Home has formed a joint venture with Pakistan-based Amtex to manufacture and distribute bedding products in North America.
The joint venture will be called Natco Amtex Home, and key executives with Amtex will be relocating to Rhode Island, according to Alan Ross, chief operating officer for Natco. It will produce bed ensembles, top-of-the-bed products and sheet sets.
The company has had a working relationship with Amtex for more than 15 years, and a joint statement from the two companies said they would find further ways to cooperate and expand its manufacturing, sourcing and distribution platforms on a global basis.
It is expected to be finalized by the end of September, after the completion of regulatory approvals from the Pakistani government and of due diligence.
“Our domestic design, marketing and distribution capabilities combined with Amtex’s size and state-of-the-art vertical manufacturing capabilities will position this new company…as a major bedding manufacturer and supplier overnight,” Ross said.
