CHICAGO–The Merchandise Mart has renamed the Gift and Home Midwest marketplace the Chicago Gift Market and has assembled new sales and marketing teams to produce the show.
Sales team members include Margaret Powers, director of sales; Elizabeth Jur, who handles exhibit sales; and Sheila Charton, who handles exhibit sales in New York. The marketing team includes Susan McCullough, senior vice president of MMPI; Susan Glick, vice president of marketing; Monique Lyle, director of marketing; and Debra Egli, buyer relations manager.
“We look forward to exciting changes and new directions,” McCullough said.
Chicago Gift Market will take place July 20-23 with a revitalized trade show floor, according to a statement from show owner MMPI. Changes include the introduction of a newly merchandised design-centric section, featuring gifts from whimsical to modern, as well as the expansion of the Emerging Artist section, focusing on handcrafted exhibitors new to the marketplace. The show also will include an array of amenities, including seminars, gourmet food service, visual displays, and the introduction of TRENDwatch, an informal modeling of the latest trends in apparel, accessories and gift product that will be held in the eighth floor cafe on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the show.
“We are pleased to introduce our new name and branding as the first phase of an exciting plan to revitalize the most important gift market in Chicago and the Midwest, affirming MMPI’s commitment to building a market focused on the best the industry has to offer,” Powers said.
