FRANKFURT, Germany-This month’s Heimtextil trade fair recorded 2,658 exhibitors, up from last year’s 2,601, marking the third consecutive year of growth for the show, according to a statement from Messe Frankfurt, owner and manager.
The show also played host to about 66,000 visitors from 128 countries, somewhat less than the 67,451 who visited last year’s show. The statement said there were increases in the number of visitors from the United States, Canada, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, Ireland, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, China and Taiwan. Overall, two-thirds of the visitors came from outside Germany, Messe Frankfurt said.
“Heimtextil has once again underscored its preeminent position as the world’s leading trade fair for home and contract textiles,” said Detlef Braun, member of Messe Frankfurt’s executive board. “The fair also succeeded in maintaining the number of visitors at an almost constant level despite the difficult economic climate prevailing at the present.”
