Gourmet Show Integration Marks Phase Two of Gift Fair Reorganization

       

       

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–The addition of the Gourmet Housewares Show will be a key feature of Phase Two of the reorganization of the New York International Gift Fair.

According to a statement from GLM, the Gift Fair’s owner and manager, the Gourmet Housewares Show will offer products from an estimated 150 suppliers—covering categories ranging from cookware, bakeware, kitchen gadgets, kitchen textiles, bar and wine accessories, small electrics, specialty food, cookbooks, storage/containers and picnic/barbecue accessories. GLM is positioning the Gourmet Housewares Show as a complement to the Gift Fair’s tabletop division, which will spotlight products from 200 suppliers of specialty tabletop products.

Other elements of Phase Two will be the addition of the “On Trend” section within General Gift, the expansion of the Stationery & Publishing section, the addition of the Artisan Jewelry Showcase within New York’s Newest and a handmade jewelry section within Personal Accessories.

The Gift Fair debuted Phase One of the reorganization at last summer’s show. Called “Focus Forward NYIGF 2013,” the plan is intended to enhance the Gift Fair’s position as a marketplace for fashion-forward and design-driven home, gift and lifestyle products.

“The first-time integration of the Gourmet Housewares Show will exponentially increase and complement the breadth and depth of resources for buyers, and a series of enhancements to other divisions will dramatically facilitate sourcing and shopping for buyers,” said Dorothy Belshaw, the Gift Fair’s director and senior vice president of GLM.

The Gift Fair is scheduled for Aug. 13-18 at its traditional venues, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94.
