NEW YORK-Gottex, the swimwear brand, has begun the process of extending its brand into a variety of home products.
In collaboration with consulting firm Concept Marketing Group, the company has begun discussions with several companies on a line of beach and bath towels, bath accessories, decorative accessories, decorative bedding, decorative pillows, decorative fabrics, outdoor furniture and other products.
Kerry Glasser, president of Concept Marketing Group, said Gottex is open to forming either a traditional licensing deal or a direct-to-retail relationship with a national retailer that has an established home program. “Realistically, we are a year away from a market introduction,” Glasser said.
Gottex-branded swimwear and coordinated accessories, which are geared toward women aged 25 and older, are distributed in nearly 3,000 department-store doors in the United States, according to a Concept Marketing Group statement. However, Glasser added, the distribution model for the Gottex home line will not necessarily mirror that of the swimwear.
