WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-Despite two winter storms and the Super Bowl on Feb. 2, exhibitors at NY Now reported what GLM, the show’s owner and manager, described as “strong days of order writing.”
“NY Now had several very strong days of attendance—particularly on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday—and buyers who made it to New York City and to the market were here to shop,” said Christian Falkenberg, GLM senior vice president and director of NY Now. The show numbered 2,500 exhibitors, many of which reported strong order writing, some from new accounts and large retailers, according to a GLM statement.
NY Now attendees represented all 50 states and 74 countries, with Canada, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Australia and the United Kingdom measuring as the top sources of international visitors. The show, which ran from Feb. 1-6 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 in New York City, also included a five-day schedule of education and social programming, including more than 40 educational sessions, social events, product awards and feature displays.
The summer NY Now is scheduled for Aug. 16-20, also at the Javits Center and Pier 94.
