WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-More than 32,000 attendees crossed the threshold to view products from 2,800 exhibitors in which show owner and manager GLM called a “dynamic debut” for NY Now, the reformatted and rebranded New York International Gift Fair, last week.
The show’s reorganization—with four product collections: NY Now Home, NY Now Lifestyle, NY Now Handmade and NY Now New—and new layout at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Pier 94 of the Passenger Ship Terminal in New York City was well received, according to a GLM statement. “New York’s market has reached a new pinnacle with the successful reorganization and rebranding of NY Now,” said Christian Falkenberg, GLM senior vice president and the show’s director. “The energy was palpable among both buyers and suppliers.”
In the statement, Cloey del Santo of Lifestyle exhibitor Toss Design said, “We had more international buyers than other shows, and we also opened several new accounts with domestic buyers.” The attendees represented all 50 U.S. states and 74 countries worldwide.
The winter NY Now is scheduled for Feb. 1-6, 2014, at the same locations. GLM said the attendees for the winter show are expected to number 35,000, from all 50 states and more than 80 countries throughout the world. About 100,000 products representing more than 400 categories will be on display, the company said.
