NEW YORK-Carl Goldstein, vice chairman of S. Lichtenberg & Co. and one of the most recognizable executives in the window-treatment business for decades, has died. He was 71.
Goldstein joined Lichtenberg in 1976 as senior vice president overseeing sales, a post he held until 2010 when he was named the company’s vice chairman. He also served on the board of directors of the Home Fashion Products Association since 1971, when the trade association was called the Curtain & Drapery Association.
Goldstein was to have received HFPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the association’s annual meeting on Nov. 13. An HFPA statement issued last week cited “his contributions, dedication and support to the board, but also to the industry at large.”
Goldstein’s funeral will take place today at Riverside Memorial Chapel here. Burial will take place afterward at New Montefiore Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y.
Among his survivors is son Scott Goldstein, Lichtenberg’s president.
