NEW YORK–7 W New York said attendance in its showrooms during the just-completed New York Home Fashions Market rose 20 percent over the market week in September of last year.
In a statement from the showroom building, Chris Collins, vice president and general manager, said the mood throughout the showrooms was upbeat among both vendors and retailers. Difficulties in the current economic environment failed to dampen the overall positive feelings both vendors and retailers took from the show. “All reported a great market while showrooms across the board where thrilled with the results of the week’s meetings and the enthusiasm of the buyers,” Collins said in a statement.
The statement said that among retailers, the number of associates buyers accompanying main retail buyers increased. The statement did not provide actual attendance figures.
