WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-The winter edition of NY Now, which is scheduled for Feb. 1-6, will welcome almost 400 exhibitors new to the show.
The newcomers will be among a total of about 2,800 exhibiting companies. Some 200 first-time exhibitors will be located in the NY Now New collection, which will be located at Pier 94 of the Passenger Ship Terminal in New York City. About 50 first-time exhibitors will be located in the Handmade collection, which will be in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center’s North area.
Both new and returning exhibitors are represented on nynow365, the online destination for NY Now. This site currently features almost 50,000 products from more than 1,000 NY Now exhibiting companies. According to GLM, owner and manager of the show, some 16,000 retailers have registered to use nynow365.
Among the educational sessions NY Now will offer will be two forecasting programs, both presented by Tom Mirabile, senior vice president of global trend and design for Lifetime Brands and contributing editor for Pantone View. On Feb. 2, “Home + Lifestyle Forecast: Styles + Trends for 2014 + Beyond” will preview styles and colors that are expected to drive home and lifestyle spending through next year and beyond. On Feb. 3, “Consumer Preference Forecast: Myths & Realities About Today’s Shoppers” will look at key consumer trends and provide insights into consumer spending habits, loyalty concerns and aspirations driving spending, and components of today’s value equation.
