HIGH POINT, N.C.–Universal Furniture International has appointed Neil MacKenzie director of marketing, reporting to Jeff Scheffer, president and CEO.

MacKenzie succeeds Kevin Miller, who was named vice president of sales of Universal Furniture’s Western region.

MacKenzie joins Universal Furniture from the Golf Channel and GolfNow.com, where he was senior manager of technology sales for the mid-Atlantic region, working with independent and multicourse operators to better leverage technology and marketing opportunities. He previously served as director of marketing for Stanley Furniture and its Young America brand, and also worked in advertising at the Mullen and Burris agencies.

“As the final step in our management reorganization, Neil is charged with making Universal a best-in-class marketer in the industry,” Scheffer said. “He adds valuable skill sets to our team and strengthens our ability to serve the present and emerging needs of our expanding customer base.”
