Pyrex parent World Kitchen celebrated the brand’s birthday at the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago earlier this week, and Macy’s followed suit with a window tribute last Friday, March 6, followed by an in-store event on Monday, March 9 at the State Street store. Family-friendly and industry related events and activities will continue in select stores across the country including Pittsburgh, New York and Philadelphia throughout the spring and into early summer encouraging attendees to “Raise Your Glass” and toast the 100-year milestone.
“The Pyrex brand is a very important home brand to Macy’s and one of the most iconic kitchen brands in the country, if not the world,” said Lisa Magann, executive vice president, general merchandise manager of Macy’s Home Store. “We are very excited to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration and to be a witness to the longevity of such a popular American brand. From in-store special events to tribute windows, Macy’s salute is timely and touches the lifestyles of our customers who shop us for the best brands for the home.”
As part of the birthday celebration, limited edition, vintage-inspired Pyrex products will be available at select stores or online at Macys.com. The centennial theme will be included in local advertising and window display dedications, as well as tourism outreach detailing the limited edition product available to travelers visiting from out of the country.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Macy’s on the Pyrex brand’s centennial celebration. The Pyrex brand is the brand consumers trust to make mealtime more fulfilling with loved ones, while the Macy’s brand provides magical moments that transcend the retail experience. These two American icons continue to revolutionize the way we shop and cook, and this partnership is another exciting chapter in our proud histories, “said Kris Malkoski, North American president of World Kitchen.
