GoodWeave RimaGoodWeave will give away this New Moon rug
NEW YORK-The New York International Carpet Show is slated to run next month, from Sept. 19-21, and two companies recently joined as exhibitors—cc-tapis and Slocum Rug Gallery—for a total of 25. This will be the first NYICS under the ownership of Murtaza Ahmadi, a member of the family-owned Amadi Carpets, which took over the show from Dennis Dodds earlier this year. It will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

In addition, nonprofit GoodWeave is holding a raffle for a handwoven rug, which will be given out during the show. From New Loom, a GoodWeave founding partner, the Rima design is a 100-knot, 5-by-7 rug handwoven in Nepal from Tibetan wool with silk accents. The rug is valued at $4,123. Raffle tickets are $25 each, or $100 for five tickets. The winning ticket will be drawn on Sept. 20; ticket holders do not have to be present to win. Raffle tickets can be bought at donatenow.networkforgood.org/goodweave-raffle/donate.
