Q Squared Creates European Marketing Plan
NEW YORK-Melamine maker Q Squared NYC has established marketing and distribution offices in Hamburg, Germany, as part of a larger global expansion strategy.
The company has formed a strategic partnership with European housewares industry veterans. Claus Winkelmann, Heiko Haase, Andreas Book and Gabrielle Block are partners in this new venture, Q Squared NYC GmbH & Co. KG. Each individual partner has more than 30 years of experience in the European housewares industry and has established contacts with key retail and hospitality accounts throughout Germany, QSquared said. Winkelmann has been a sales representative for the German company Rainer Barthels, which specializes in household products and small electrics. Haase is a retailer whose stores sell porcelain, cutlery and home appliances and who represents brands such as KitchenAid and Le Creuset in his shops and online. Book runs a German e-commerce company, Elektro-book.de, and has expertise in warehousing and distribution. Block has various business interests throughout Europe and will serve as financial director.
"Our expansion to Germany was a natural step in our growth, allowing us to better serve our international customers," said CEO Nancy Mosny. "We're extremely confident in our partners. They will play an essential role as we create a strong market presence for Q Squared in Europe."
The German expansion is the first step in what Mosny describes as an "overall international strategy" with plans to unveil additional marketing and distribution centers in Asia and Australia in the next two years. The U.S. strategy remains intact as Q Squared NYC continues to grow domestically, the company said.
