Liora Manne Moves to the D&D
NEW YORK-Liora Manne, the designer for her own line as well as for Trans-Ocean, has relocated her design studio and showroom to the 18th floor of the Decoration & Design (D&D) building, here. She previously was in Chelsea for almost 20 years.
"The D&D building is the perfect fit," Manne said. "We do so much custom business working with designers that being here makes it so much easier. Designers and their customers shop this building all the time--they do not have to go all the way across town to have access to us." In addition, "our process is so 'picturesque' that designers will be able to witness this, see the making of the pattern and have the ability to give their input," with samples and strike-offs made on site. They will "have immediate gratification seeing the results."
In addition, Manne will host a sale on RueLaLa.com starting June 28, which will include some of Manne's rare, one-of-a-kind discounted pieces from her archives, including original mosaic tile rugs from the 1990s (made in the old Andy Warhol factory in Union Square) and exclusive samples. Rugs generally selling for $500-$3,000 will be priced at $100-$950.
