Grand to Receive HFPA Lifetime Achievement Award
NEW YORK-Mark Grand, president of Peking Handicraft, will receive the Carl Goldstein Lifetime Achievement Award from the Home Fashion Products Association at its annual meeting on Nov. 13.
The award, named for the late vice chairman of S. Lichtenberg & Co., recognizes Grand's commitment and dedication to the HFPA, its board of directors and the industry at large. His career began when he joined the Executive Training Class of Abraham & Straus in 1973, and he went on to hold positions in buying and merchandising for Bullock's and Strouds. For the latter, he served as vice president of bedding, vice president of stores and finally as executive vice president and general merchandising manager.
Grand joined Sears in 1995 as vice president and general merchandise manager of home fashions. In 2003, he joined Peking Handicraft as chief operating officer, where he served until 2008, when he was named the company's president. He has announced that he will retire from Peking Handicraft at the end of this year.
HFPA's annual meeting will take place in the Buyer's Lounge at the 295 Fifth Ave. showroom building here. A keynote speaker for the meeting will be announced soon.
