Wray Leaving High Point Market Authority
HIGH POINT, N.C.-Kimberley Wray, who as vice president of marketing for the High Point Market Authority helped modernize and restructure the furniture shows here, is leaving her position.
Wray, who said she is leaving for personal and family reasons, will stay on through June. In the meantime, the Authority said it will be looking for her successor.
Wray, a former newspaper editor who previously ran the one-time sister publication of HFN, High Points, joined the Authority in July 2006 shortly before current president Brian Casey came on board. "Her writing skills and deep knowledge of our industry have been invaluable to us over the past four years," Casey said. "Beyond that, all of us here at the Authority have enjoyed working with her, and we wish Kim the very best in her future endeavors."
"My tenure with the Market Authority has been exceptionally rewarding, both personally and professionally," Wray said. "We have been effective not only in meeting our competitive challenges, but also in successfully expanding our outreach during an economic downturn of historic proportions."
Casey said he expects to have a successor in place by the summer and that since marketing plans are already in place for the fall market, there should be no interruptions in the group's efforts.
