AmazonHandmadelogoSEATTLE-Amazon has launched Handmade at Amazon, an online store offering handmade items crafted and sold directly from artisans.

The store is located at amazon.com/handmade. Among the categories featured on the site are home decor, kitchen and dining products, and furniture—along with jewelry, art work, stationery and party supplies.

Handmade at Amazon offers products that are only handcrafted, and not made in factories. Visitors to the site can find products from artisans in all 50 states and more than 60 countries. Each artisan also has a profile that describes how his or her products are made.

In addition, more than 600 of the handmade items are eligible for Prime, Amazon’s membership service, and more products are being added to the eligible list each day, according to an Amazon statement.

“We have designed a custom shopping experience for customers looking for handmade items by bringing together many of the best artisans in the world, and they’re adding thousands of items daily,” said Peter Faricy, vice president of Amazon Marketplace. “Handmade at Amazon offers customers more than 80,000 quality handcrafted items from around the world, and over 30 percent can be personalized by artisans to delight customers.”
