CHICAGO-Dyson is entering the humidifier category with the launch, in September, of its first humidifier.

The new product will be designed with two Dyson technologies. Its trademarked Air Multiplier technology provides even distribution, while its Ultraviolet cleansing technology kills 99.9 percent of bacteria in water, according to a Dyson statement.

The Dyson humidifier projects clean, hydrated air around a room evenly and quietly. It can double as a fan for summer cooling as well.

Pricing information was unavailable at press time.

In line with the product’s debut, the Skin Health Alliance has released a white paper that assesses the effects of humidity in the home. According to the Dyson statement, the paper said low humidity can lead to dry skin scales, aggravated skin texture, reduced elasticity and fine wrinkles.
