DallasMarketCenterDALLAS—The Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, which includes the Dallas International Lighting Market, opens today.

Among the lighting introductions will be an emphasis on LED, as well as open designs that focus on highlighting the bulb and industrial looks.

In addition, a number of events are planned throughout the show. For today, that includes several cooking demonstrations at the Hall of Nations in the World Trade Center (WTC). Chef Daniel Pittman, of Luck (Local Urban Craft Kitchen), will prepare Bierocks at 1 p.m., while Executive Chef Patrick Russell of Max’s Wine Dive will demonstrate his unusual flavor pairings at 2 p.m.

From 4-6 p.m., Crystorama Lighting (Trade Mart 3503) will host its market party, offering cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and its signature chocolate fountain.

Later tonight, the HTI Scouting Report allows housewares peers to enjoy drinks and network, starting at 5 p.m. in Trade Mart 2355. Then at 5:45 p.m., the All Market Party begins in the WTC’s Atrium, where attendees can enjoy drinks as well as listen to Nashville country artist Jake Maurer.

One of two events ART is hosting this week, the Beer with Peers event is for the ART Under 40 and ALA Young Executives groups. To be held 7-9 p.m. tonight at the Four Corners Brewery in Dallas, it is sponsored by Fanimation. There will be a one-way shuttle sponsored by the Dallas Market Center leaving WTC at 7:15 p.m. Registration is required.

Eighteen vendors are participating in the ART card program at market, offering exclusive market specials and promotions to ART member retailers who present their ART card when they place an order.
