“Top Chef” Chef to Demo Black+Decker Pizza Product
MIDDLETON, Wisc.—Spike Mendelsohn, a former cheftestant on Bravo’s “Top Chef,” will be the celebrity chef demonstrating the new Black+Decker 5 Minute Pizza Oven & Snack Maker during the International Home + Housewares Show next month.
At the Spectrum Brands booth in Lakeside, #L11331, Mendelsohn will give hourly demos from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 8 and 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 9. The pizza oven is designed to cook a frozen or fresh pizza in less than five minutes, and it can also make frozen snacks, baked goods and other foods. It can fit up to a 12-inch pizza, and the pizza tray’s removable handle can turn the tray into a pizza peel.
Mendelsohn has worked at such restaurants as Bouchon, Les Crayeres and Le Cirque. In 2008, he opened up Good Stuff Eatery, a burger joint in Washington D.C. It had since expanded, including a new location in Chicago. He appeared on “Top Chef: Chicago Season 4” and “Top Chef All-Stars Season 8.”
