NEW YORK–The New York Spring Tabletop Show begins today with the same sense of optimism and renewal that the season signifies.
“I think it’s fair to say we are definitely seeing the end of that thing called 2009,” declared Laurie Burns, director of permanent showroom building Forty One Madison, which unveils nine new showrooms at this market. “Retailers are looking to position themselves for the future and manufacturers are eager to provide their customers with what they want.”
The show runs today through Friday, April 16 at Forty One Madison, 7 W New York and other permanent showroom buildings and company showrooms across the city. Industry executives will gather at numerous social events over the next few days, including 7 W’s fifth anniversary party in its building tonight, Forty One Madison’s reception on the piazza outside the building tomorrow evening and at numerous individual showrooms.
