NEW YORK-Portmeirion Group says demand for its Royal Baby Collection has been outstanding – and following the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s announcement of Prince George’s name, the Royal Worcester designs are now complete.
“Collectors have been patiently waiting for the naming since the announcement of the birth,” said Wendy Motlaq, corporate vice president.
The Royal Worcester collection includes a coupe plate, loving cup, round tray and mug, which are being made at Portmeirion Group’s factory in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Each item is adorned with Prince George’s name and date of birth, July 22, 2013, in Royal Worcester’s iconic gold colorway. Suggested retail prices range from $24.99 to $49.99, and the company is taking orders on its website, portmeirion.com.
“There’s a flurry of activity at our factory and a real sense of excitement,” Motlaq said. “It’s going to be a very busy and enjoyable couple of weeks getting all the pieces delivered to our online customers.”
