SEATTLE–Tabletop designer Rosanna Bowles has been selected to design products for the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, which opens on May 21 in New York.

The product line will include porcelain trays and mugs, votive holders and canvas tote bags that carry images of the World Trade Center tridents, the Survivor Tree, rescue dog artwork, FDNY and NYPD badges and American flags, as well as words of contemplation such as “hope,” “remember,” “reflect” and “honor.” All net proceeds from sales will be dedicated to developing and sustaining the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

“It is the greatest honor to have been chosen to design for the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum, our country’s most important museum for healing,” said Bowles, president and art director of Rosanna, Inc. “It was a big responsibility for us to tell the story of 9/11 in a sensitive way. Our design needed to be respectful not only to the lives lost but also to this important historic event that changed our country—and all of us.  Entrusting us to design for the museum was the biggest compliment, and I was truly humbled to be asked. I felt it was my civic duty to do whatever I could for the Memorial & Museum, for our country, for the victims and their families, for the military and for the city of New York.”

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum will serve as the country’s institution for reflecting on the impact of 9/11, remembering the victims, honoring those who went to their rescue and exploring the continuing significance of the day’s events.
