Crystal Stemware ID Guide
GREENSBORO, N.C.-Crystal enthusiasts have a brand new tool for pattern identification. Replacements has added the Crystal Stemware ID Guide, Vol. 1, A-F to its publishing library. The first of three volumes, this initial guide includes nearly 6,000 patterns produced by 200 companies from A (AA Importing Company) through F (Furstenberg).
"Our goal with this book is to provide an easy, visual way for anyone to identify crystal patterns," said Chris Kirkman, Replacements' vice president of product operations. "We arranged the patterns in a visually intuitive manner grouped by the manufacturer, then by stem or bowl shape to help readers narrow their search more quickly by first comparing like shapes. We're also using line drawings rather than photographs, because photos often do not adequately capture some of the more intricate details. We believe this guide is by far the most extensive reference of its type."
Along with the highly detailed black-and-white line drawing, readers will also find helpful information including factory name, stem, line, or assigned number; a brief description and known pattern variations. Also included is a section on makers who commonly sign their names on, or otherwise mark, their glassware.
This reference resource is listed at $29.99 suggested retail, but can be purchased for $19.99 at the company's retail store, www.replacements.com or by calling Replacements.
