Rahm Emanuel to Speak During Housewares Show
ROSEMONT, Ill.- Former Obama administration chief of staff and current Chicago mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel will be the featured speaker during the annual Industry Breakfast at the 2011 International Home + Housewares Show. The breakfast begins at 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 8 in the South Building, Level 1, Room S100/Grand Ballroom.
Emanuel, a Chicago native, most recently served as the White House Chief of Staff in President Barack Obama's administration. He resigned effective October 1, 2010, to run for Mayor of Chicago following the retirement of Richard M. Daley. As Chief of Staff, he helped orchestrate the passage of milestone legislation including the Economic Recovery Act, Wall Street reform and health care reform. Prior to his role in the administration, Emanuel served three terms as U.S. Congressman from Chicago's 5th District. He served on the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees taxes, trade, Social Security and Medicare.
In addition to Emanuel's presentation, International Housewares Association Chairman Bruce Kaminstein, chief executive officer of Casabella, will briefly outline the Association's accomplishments in the past year and its objectives for the future. Tickets for the Industry Breakfast are $25 per person or $300 for a table of 10 with priority seating.
