NEW YORK-The fall edition of the bi-annual New York Tabletop Show begins today. Buyers from across the country and from diverse channels of distribution will head to Forty One Madison, 230 Fifth Avenue, 7 W and individual showrooms around the city to view the newest dinnerware, glassware and flatware on offer.
Among the licensed launches to look for at the show are Aerin and DKNY by Lenox, a Florence Broadhurst collection by Gibson, and an Olivia Putman collection by Philippe Deshoulieres. Meyer Corp., which manufactures Paula Deen and Rachael Ray tabletop, will introduce more than a dozen dinnerware patterns under its BonJour brand.
Attendees looking for a way to navigate this market and its environs can download the Forty One Madison application. Showroom listings are organized three ways: alphabetically, by floor and by category. An image gallery also is accessible, featuring a company’s newest products. Users can connect directly with individual companies. There is also a “To Do” section, allowing the user to keep a record of the specific showrooms to visit. A range of nearby restaurants is listed, with a link to Google maps, along with instant access to direct calling for a reservation. The app links to Forty One’s Facebook page and there’s an integrated Twitter feed. The app is free and available in native version for Apple, Android and Blackberry 10, plus in mobile web version for all other device models. During the show, Forty One Madison ambassadors will be available in the lobby to demonstrate the app and help visitors with any questions regarding it.
