SANTA FE, N.M.–Tabletop company Nambé, known for its high-design alternative metal serveware, is entering the lighting and kitchenware categories.
The company’s new table lamps, tea kettles, canisters and other countertop items will be unveiled during the New York Tabletop Show later this month.
“I believe there is an unmet demand that has the potential to create a trifecta of retail sales opportunities: self-purchase, gift and bridal registry,” Robert Varakian, president and CEO of Nambé, said. “Nambé is positioning itself to fill this void in the industry while also providing the retailer healthy and consistent margins.”
Designers Steve Cozzolino, Neil Cohen, Wei Young and Lou Henry developed beverage dispensers, tea kettles, a canister set, a kitchen tool holder (with tools) and a towel holder, all with curving modern lines associated with Nambé. “There is an untapped opportunity for well-designed, high-quality housewares items that can retail near the $100 price point,” Varakian added, “particularly items out on display in the kitchen and are both functional and decorative.”
The kitchenware items range in price from $90 to $150 retail.
Nambé designers Karim Rashid and Neil Cohen created eight designs for the new lamp line. Among the introductions are the Wind table lamp, which retails for $275; the Flow accent lamp, for $125 retail; and the Forma table lamp, for $300 retail.
