Meyer Enters Tabletop with Paula and Rachael

Meyer Corporation, known for its cookware and kitchenware expertise, enters the tabletop category at the International Home + Housewares Show this month with an extensive launch of dinnerware by celebrity chefs Paula Deen and Rachael Ray.

“Introducing tabletop represents a natural progression for both brands, and we’re proud of the collaborative work we’ve accomplished with Paula and Rachael in creating dinnerware patterns that are fresh, distinctive and true to the spirit and persona of each celebrity,” said Suzanne Murphy, vice president of marketing.

Meyer launched Paula Deen cookware, kitchenware and bakeware and Rachael Ray cookware, bakeware and kitchen tools in recent years.

The initial tabletop rollout will include seven porcelain and nine stoneware patterns from Paula Deen and seven porcelain and three stoneware collections from Rachael Ray. The mix and match collections are distinguished by their use of decorative decals, according to Meyer, “which personalizes the patterns and effuses them with the well-known style and point of view of each celebrity.”
“We believe consumers will gravitate to dinnerware that reflects their celebrity products in the kitchen,” Murphy said.

The Paula Deen collection reflects the chef’s warmth and charm with highly decorated and colorful patterns that are traditional with a modern twist, as each plate offers a playful greeting on the back: “From My Kitchen to Yours, Best Dishes, Paula Deen.” The porcelain patterns feature distinctly southern-style motifs, such as the Georgia peach, and reflect Deen’s affinity for southern gardens, with large-scale as well as delicate florals. The stoneware patterns are offered in a wide range of soft, solid colors in either a single-glazed or hand-rubbed antique finish, and sculpted, bas-relief designs to lend a sense of history and tradition to the table. The new stoneware assortment also includes three square dinnerware patterns with traditional bas-relief rim designs in four available colorways.

Paula Deen tabletop will be available in 16-piece sets as well as select open stock, and retail prices range from $6.99 for a mug to $79.99 for the 16-piece set.

Rachael Ray’s new casual dinnerware “echoes Rachael’s unique and intelligent approach to fusing contemporary and retro styles to create a balanced look of whimsy and elegance that is casual, friendly, yet solidly based on good design,” according to Meyer. The porcelain dinnerware patterns carry distinct motifs and colors that celebrate Ray’s love of mid-century American design. In stoneware, the assortment includes three contemporary styles with fresh takes on shapes and colors, with both bright and warm colorways with contrasting white exteriors and rims. Like the Paula Deen collection, Rachael Ray tabletop will be available both as 16-piece sets and as open stock, with the same price-point range.
