Lifetime Brands, Fackelmann Group, Grupo Vasconia and Accent Fairchild Team for Direct Imports

       

       

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.­—Lifetime Brands, Accent-Fairchild Group, Grupo Vasconia S.A.B. and Fackelmann GmbH Co. KG announced the formation of Housewares Corporation of Asia Limited (HCA) to supply direct import, kitchenware programs to retailers in North, Central and South America.

The new union brings together four of the world’s largest housewares companies: Lifetime is a major supplier of well-known brands in North America; Fackelmann is one of the largest European companies; Grupo Vasconia is one of Mexico’s largest housewares companies; and Accent-Fairchild Group, is a leading distributor of housewares products in Canada.

“This move enables us to do more direct import programs with certain retailers that prefer to deal directly with the factories,” Jeffrey Siegel, chief executive officer of Lifetime Brands, told HFN.

Siegel said his company has had a close relationship with Fackelmann for more than a decade. “Fackelmann already has a team in place in Hong Kong,” he said. “They’ll be doing the same things for the Americas that they’ve been doing in Europe.”

The newly formed HCA will share the Hong Kong facilities of European Quality Housewares Limited, an affiliate of Fackelmann, which is already supplying private label and branded kitchenware product to European retailers.

Siegel said that initially, HCA will focus on housewares items. He added that the group may explore the idea of adding tabletop to its offerings.
