Iittala to Market and Distribute Fiskars Brand in U.S.

CHERRY HILL, N.J.–Iittala will begin marketing and distributing Fiskars-branded home products in North America.
The company was acquired by Fiskars, best known for its orange-handled scissors, last year. Fiskars is organized into four business units: garden, craft, outdoor recreation and homewares.
“There is little overlap in our current set-up, and we see even stronger development opportunities to organize all homewares brands under one unit,” said Tero Vahakyla, president and chief executive officer of the global homewares division, in a statement.
Sue Pregartner, president of iittala Inc., said the Fiskars brand is a good fit and will add new value to the American division.
“Currently, Fiskars kitchen gadgets and cookware are not distributed in the U.S. market,” she said. “Our core business is still doing well; we are exploring and understanding the new areas for potential business development.”
