Housewares Show Opens Today
CHICAGO—The International Home + Housewares Show opens today with thousands of product introductions and numerous educational and social events.
Matt Abdoo, Ming Tsai, Rick Bayless, Buddy Valastro, Ree Drummond and Michelle Bernstein will demonstrate their talents at the Cooking Theater today.
Groupe SEB will debut its new 8,000 square foot booth, which includes all of the Groupe SEB brands in one space for the first time, in #S4406. All-Clad, T-fal and Imusa will each have their own demo kitchen at the booth. Michelle Bernstein is scheduled to demo at the Imusa kitchen today.
Eastman Tritan (#S4875) will have a batting cage for attendees, who can have a swing at clear mugs made of Eastman Tritan.
Gibson is launching its extensive Pioneer Woman collection of prep, cook, serve and dine items with Ree Drummond.
Lenox is showcasing the Three Chefs collection of dinnerware and cookware; Hampton Forge is partnering with chef Maria Loi to create a Mediterranean-inspired collection of flatware, cutlery, cookware and ceramics.
World Kitchen will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its Pyrex brand.
Tomorrow, Sunday, March 8, the Culinary Futures cocktail hour and silent auction will take place to support Careers Through Culinary Arts program (C-CAP). The event brings together industry professionals and friends to benefit C-CAP, a national non-profit organization that works with public schools to prepare at-risk students for college and careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry. It will be held from 6-8 p.m., at Ovation, an event space at 2324 West Fulton Street in Chicago.
Also tomorrow, “Convergence: How Housewares and Giftware Are Coming Together ... And Loving It” is the theme for a first-time panel featuring retailers and suppliers. The event, moderated by HFN’s Warren Shoulberg, will be held from noon-1 p.m. in room S100 at McCormick Place.
