It promises to be a season of newness in tabletop.
New products will take center stage during the spring tabletop market this month, but several new companies, new brands and new businesses will also vie for buyers’ attention, a sign, perhaps, of a revitalized industry.
From the textiles industry comes a new licensed collection, Echodesign. The Echo Design Group’s first entree into the category, in partnership with Robinson Home Products, continues the tradition of print, pattern and color already seen in its fashion accessories and home products. Among other new licensed collections are Sunbeam dinnerware from Gibson, Nambé dinnerware from Gibson and Nambé crystal from Rogaska, Dena dinnerware from Zrike, and Laurie Gates flatware from Hampton Forge.
Overseas companies are eyeing the U.S. market, and some are making their debut in New York this spring, including Maxwell & Williams, an Australian powerhouse that will be distributed here by Fitz & Floyd. Fellow Australian company Salt & Pepper is enjoying a second season at permanent showroom building Forty One Madison Avenue.
Milestones will be celebrated at this market, including the 50th anniversary of Rosenthal’s Studio-Line, Pfaltzgraff’s 200th anniversary and Fiesta’s 75th.
The New York Tabletop Show takes place at Forty One Madison Avenue April 12-15, alongside showroom displays at 7 W New York, 230 Fifth Avenue and at individual brand showrooms across the City.
