Emeril Extends Reach at Housewares Show
CHICAGO-Chef Emeril Lagasse has re-emerged on the housewares scene through three new licensing partnerships and products that will debut at the International Home + Housewares Show here next month.
Emeril will extend into cutlery with Sterling Home, grills with Viking Culinary Group and outdoor tabletop serveware and kitchen prep products with Zak Designs. New products will join existing lines with Group SEB cookware and electrics as well as barware from Gorham.
The Emeril cutlery collection is made with both German and Chinese steel in forged and stamped compositions with handles that range from stainless steel to Pakkawood. Complementing the cutlery will be a line of bamboo cutting boards as well as a folding kitchen cart. Two grills - one charcoal, one gas - will debut from Viking Culinary Group. The Emeril Charcoal Grill is constructed of porcelain-enamel heavy-gauge steel, a hinged lid with an integrated thermostat, a hinged grate, storage shelf and ash collector. The Emeril Gas Grill features four burners, stainless steel flavor generator plates, a grease management system and 589 square-inches of grilling space. Zak Designs is partnering with Emeril on a line of colorful tabletop and kitchenware products that will include items like mixing bowls and serving trays.
After relaunching the entire cookware with All-Clad last year, the Emeril assortment will expand with complementary open stock pieces for the Pro-Clad, stainless steel and copper, hard anodized and cast iron collections. The new heavy-gauge carbon steel bakeware line will also expand, as will the T-Fal collection of small electrics. Gorham will launch a barware line that incorporates "the signature Emeril fun theme," according to a statement from Martha Stewart Omnimedia, which owns the assets related to Lagasse's media and merchandising business.
