Alessi Honored with Good Design Awards
CHICAGO-Alessi has received several 2012 Good Design Awards, the company announced today.
The Ape Aperitif Set by Giulio Iacchetti; Floating Earth Tray by Ma Yan Song; Ming Tray by Zhang Ke from the (Un)forbidden City collection; and Lumiere table lamp with Flame and Abatjour LED bulbs designed by Giovanni Alessi Anghini and Gabriele Chiave for the AlessiLux collection have been recognized.
Founded in Chicago in 1950 by architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., Good Design bestows international recognition upon the world's most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design. The awards are conferred annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
