IMC Realigns Marketing Team
HIGH POINT, N.C. and LAS VEGAS-International Market Centers, L.P. (IMC), which owns and operates 11.5 million square feet of exhibition space in High Point, N.C., and Las Vegas, as well as operates the Las Vegas Design Center, has restructured the marketing teams in Las Vegas and High Point, merging the two marketing resources into one integrated corporate entity.
"The purpose of the realignment is to create a strong, innovative and collaborative marketing team that can optimize opportunities and efficiencies across High Point and Las Vegas," said Scott Eckman, IMC's chief marketing officer/chief strategy officer. The new marketing structure provides direct services oriented to IMC's customers and its leasing teams, Eckman said. Three core groups will be created within the IMC marketing division. They include the strategic planning group, which will be aligned to support IMC's primary channels, Home Furnishings and Gift and Home Decor; the marketing communications group, which executes marketing strategies and tactics and manages IMC's multi?media channels; and a publication and sponsorship team. "We believe strongly that our customers will be better served by our new structure which drives partnership, consistency and stronger leverage in the marketplace," Eckman said.
Karen Olson, located in High Point, has been appointed the new vice president of marketing for home furnishings, where she will be responsible for creating marketing strategies that drive value for IMC through occupancy and buyer attendance, as well as supporting IMC's home furnishings tenants, IMC said. She reports to Eckman. Carolyn Martin, formerly a brand manager at World Market Center Las Vegas, has been promoted to marketing director for home furnishings, reporting to Olson. The company will also name a vice president of marketing for Gift and Home, a newly created position, which will also report to Eckman.
Dana Andrew, who is based in Las Vegas, has become vice president of the newly formed global marketing and communications team, which will be the in?house marketing agency for all IMC brands. Reporting to Eckman, Andrew will activate the marketing plans across IMC's entire platform-in High Point and Las Vegas, and for both the home furnishings and Gift and Home Decor sectors. In addition, Sarah Mount has been named director of content and interactive media and reports to Andrew, and will be responsible for leading the development and distribution of content. Additionally, the global marketing and communications group has four new positions: database marketing manager, social media/public relations manager, project manager and graphic/web designer.
In addition, John Emerick will join the marketing team as IMC's director of advertising, a new position. Reporting to Eckman, Emerick will oversee sales, production of publications and sponsorships. With more than 20 years of B2B senior level leadership experience in marketing, advertising and publishing, Emerick has previously held such positions as regional sales manager for Furniture|Today and publisher of Conde Nast's InFurniture magazine.
