Walgreens Realigns Merchandising; Curtin Heads Personal Care

       

       

DEERFIELD, Ill.–Walgreens has repositioned the responsibilities of its general merchandise managers and divisional merchandise managers, and has appointed Shannon Curtin general merchandise manager for beauty, personal care and seasonal.

Curtin reports to Bryan Pugh, vice president of merchandising and chief merchandising officer. In addition, the company has designated Steve Broughton general merchandise manager of food, beverages and household consumables, and Robert Tompkins general merchandise manager of health and wellness, front-end services and general merchandise. Broughton and Tompkins also report to Pugh.

In this new alignment, Walgreens has also reduced the number of category managers, and has created the position of category specialist to assist the managers.

Also, the company has expanded the team of Joe Magnacca, president of daily living products and solutions. Moe Alkemade has been named vice president of retail brands and global sourcing, and Rachel Bishop has become vice president of daily living strategy and business development. Alkemade, Bishop, Pugh and Mark Scharbo, vice president of inventory strategy, all report to Magnacca.
