Tuesday Morning Exits Online Business

DALLAS-Tuesday Morning has opted to stop selling merchandise online and to concentrate on its brick-and-mortar business.

In a statement posted on its website, the retailer said, “Due to the nature of our closeout business, Tuesday Morning will no longer be selling merchandise online. Tuesday Morning will be focused on presenting exciting in-store assortments of closeout, brand-name, first-quality products for your home at unparalleled savings.”

A statement from a Tuesday Morning spokeswoman said, “As part of Tuesday Morning’s ongoing renewal, management is focusing time and resources solely on our guests’ in-store experience—where 99 percent of our revenue is generated. We anticipate a seamless experience for e-customers as we execute this transition.”

In a preliminary statement issued in July, Tuesday Morning said net sales for its fiscal fourth quarter ending on June 30 rose 2.9 percent to $202.1 million, including a gain in same-store sales of 4.6 percent. Net sales for the full fiscal year totaled $838.3 million, up 3.1 percent and including a 3.9 percent pickup in same-store sales. The company will release its full fiscal results for both the fourth quarter and the year on Aug. 20.
