The Next Big Zing and SkyMall Launch Product Contest

       

       

CHICAGO–An independent award program, The Next Big Zing has partnered with retailer SkyMall to find the most innovative products of 2012 in a product contest. Five winners will have their products sold in a future edition of SkyMall, which will be seen by airline passengers for three months.

“This is the first time we decided to team up with SkyMall,” said Dhana Cohen, founder and president, The Next Big Zing, nextbigzing.com. “Obviously, the exposure is huge, and travelers have time to look through the catalog, their audience alone is a potential 1.8 million people daily…Who wouldn’t want that?”

People can enter by going to thenextbigzing.com. The contest deadline is March 15, 2012, after which The Next Big Zing will evaluate the products and then send SkyMall its top 10 picks. SkyMall will choose five of those as the winners, which will be announced in SkyMall’s summer or fall 2012 catalog. In addition, the winners will have exposure through The Next Big Zing website, as well as use of the award seal on their marketing materials, trade show booths, websites and more. The price package is worth about $7,000. There is a $95 application fee for each product submitted, though 2011 Next Big Zing Award winners will be allowed to apply for the SkyMall contest with an additional fee of $30.

Each winner will be responsible to carry inventory of at least 150 units prior to June 22, 2012, and throughout the three months following.
