SEATTLE–Sur La Table plans to hire 2,000 seasonal employees this fourth quarter, almost doubling its staff. The gourmet retailer currently operates 89 stores nationwide with three more to open by early December. In addition, Sur La Table’s retail store, cooking class and online growth is creating regular job opportunities throughout the country, the company said, and seasonal workers frequently transition into permanent positions.
“Ten new stores and nine new culinary programs provided many opportunities for regular employment this year, as will approximately twelve new stores in 2012,” said Jack Schwefel, CEO. “Many of the seasonal employees we hired last year became this year’s regular employees. We are a growing company and are fortunate to be hiring talented individuals across all functions.”
