Stone to Retire from Lowe's

MOORESVILLE, N.C.-Larry D. Stone, president and chief operating officer of Lowe's, will retire on June 2.
In his more than four-decade career with the home-improvement retailer, Stone served in a variety of executive posts in store operations, merchandising and store environment. A Lowe's statement said the company will not fill his positions after his retirement.
Lowe's also announced the following promotions:
oRobert Gfeller, senior vice president and general merchandise manager, will succeed Nick Canter as executive vice president of merchandising when Canter retires in March.
oRick Damron, senior vice president of logistics, has been named executive vice president of store operations. He succeeds Michael Brown, who has been appointed executive vice president and chief information officer.
oWilliam D. (Doug) Robinson, vice president of store operations/special projects, has been promoted to senior vice president of customer-support services.
oRichard Maltsbarger, vice president of strategic planning, has been named senior vice president of strategy.
