JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-Stein Mart’s board of directors has formed an Office of the President, and has appointed D. Hunt Hawkins and Brian Morrow to share the office.
Hawkins has become president and chief operating office, while Morrow has been named president and chief merchandising officer. Both executives continue to report to CEO Jay Stein.
Hawkins, who was previously executive vice president and chief operating officer, retains his responsibility over Stein Mart’s day-to-day operations. Morrow, who was executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, keeps his responsibility over the merchandising aspects.
Noting Hawkins’ and Morrow’s “significant contributions to the success of the company,” Stein added, “Their promotions are a testament to their leadership that has built a team that has produced seven consecutive quarters of comp-store gains, a dramatic departure from the achievements of past management, and reflect the confidence the board and I have in them.”
