WASHINGTON–With online shopping becoming increasingly popular, retailers will offer an expanded lineup of promotions all season long, according to a study conducted for Shop.org, the National Retail Federation division, by BIGresearch.
The eHoliday Survey found that 51 percent of the participating retailers will offer promotions specifically on Thanksgiving Day, and 78.4 percent will have promotions right on Cyber Monday. In addition, 92.2 percent of the respondents will have special promotions at some point during the Thanksgiving weekend.
Regarding what specials will be offered, 45 percent of the participants will have coupons and percent-off deals, and 37.5 percent will have limited-time promotions. Thirty percent will offer free standard shipping and 15 percent plan to feature a free gift with purchase.
