Sears Tabs Woo to Head Marketing at Sears Stores
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.--Monica Woo has been named vice president and chief marketing officer for Sears stores, effective Aug. 15.
According to a Sears spokesman, Woo will assume responsibility over all of the marketing, brand and advertising programs for Sears stores. Mark Snyder, chief marketing officer for Kmart, is continuing in this role, also responsible for marketing, brand efforts and advertising. Both will report to David Friedman, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Sears Holdings, parent company of the two chains.
Woo is filling a post that has been vacant since January 2010, when Don Hamblen, the previous chief merchandising officer, left the company to become senior vice president-customer marketing for Family Dollar.
Before joining Sears, Woo was chief marketing and strategy officer for FreshDirect, the online grocery retailer. Her career also includes positions as president of the flagship consumer floral division of 1-800-Flowers.com, chief marketing officer of Deutsche Bank's online retail bank in Latin America, and president of global brands at Bacardi
